• This MR scanner is intended for use by qualified healthcare professionals. Patients should avoid wearing metal objects or gold and must inform the technician of any implants or medical devices—including pacemakers, infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, artificial joints, metal fragments, cochlear implants, stents, shunts, clips, or any electronic implants—as MRI scans may interact with these and cause complications. MRI is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy unless medically necessary, and pregnancy status must be disclosed. Patients with claustrophobia or anxiety may receive medication to help them relax during the procedure.
